THE CLOUGHTON RAT PACK
YMCA Theatre, Scarborough, YO11 1DY
Fri 16th August 2019
The Cloughton Rat Pack are a group of five local lads - Paul Mintoft (Sog), Steve Chambers, Tim Osbourne, Clive Welburn and Jeremy (Jez) Pratt - who all have a love of the sounds and humour of the famous Rat Pack - Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop.
The show features many of the songs made famous by these huge American icons. All backed by the fantastic King Willy's Big Band, under the direction of Will Oseland. There will also be madcap humour and antics in abundance!
The Cloughton Rat Pack have donated all the proceeds from their previous shows to local charities. They have raised thousands over the last couple of years. Tonight's lucky charities are Saint Catherine's and Scarborough YMCA.
RAT PACK taken from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The RAT PACK was a super-group of actors originally centred on their leader, Frank Sinatra. Later it was revealed by Sinatra that Joey Bishop headed the bunch. By the 1960's, it was the name used by the press and the general public to refer to a later variation of the group that called itself "the Summit" or "the Clan", featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jnr, Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop; they appeared together on stage and in films in the early 1960s, including the movies Ocean's 11, Sergents 3, and Robin and the 7 Hoods (in the last film, Bing Crosby replaced Lawford). Sinatra, Martin, and Davis were regarded as the group's lead members.
