Wrap up warm and join us for magical “must-do” evening event with the world’s most famous nocturnal birds!

Winter Owl Evenings are a great idea for an evening out with family or friends, a present for someone special and are a superb way to treat yourself- the memories will last forever!

We start the evening with a mulled wine or hot, spiced apple juice.

Then we set off on a guided tour of the owls by torchlight

Next is a flying demonstration of the tiny owls by candlelight in Christmas Tree Cottage.

Time for a warm up – so we head into the Owl House Cafe for a 2-course meal with coffee. For menu details, please click here.

Finally we see the large owls flying free in the darkness of our woodland flying ground, lit only by torchlight, the highlight of the evening.

This very special evening starts at 7pm prompt and ends at around 9.45pm. The evenings are suitable for children aged 8 and over.

The Owl Evenings run every Saturday evening from the end of October until Christmas. We then run more evenings in early February. Please wear warm, sensible clothes, and bring a torch!!

In addition to a world class collections of these magnificent birds there are three daily flying demonstrations where you will see birds from tiny owls to giant eagles flying freely. The demos are always popular with photographers. Set amongst the veteran oaks of Duncombe Park this is a place for the whole family to enjoy. Many visitors spend a whole day with us, you really need at least 2 hours to see everything. Why not bring a picnic and make a day of it? The Fountain Tearoom serves a selection of hot and cold food and has daily specials on the blackboard.
