The Friends of Scarborough Library Presents -a Public Talk by Dr Michael Wilson -Entitled:– Rubber, Spices and Homestead Tree Gardens

A Doctor of Science with Services to Rural Development in India In 2002-Yorkshire born Dr Michael Wilson was awarded an OBE –for  Services to International Development in the same year

As a Career he has worked as the Senior Renewable Natural Resources Adviser for the Department for International Development as well as spending time in the West Indies, Africa and Asia, but latterly mostly in India - pulling poor rural people out of poverty.  

The Talk is About Rubber, Spices and Homestead Tree Gardens and is based on photographs of what Dr Wilson saw, during a recent visit to Kerala in South India.  

There will be lots of interesting facts and observations; unusual crops and maybe even a song.

The Talk is at Scarborough Library on Vernon Road and starts at 11am on Saturday 2nd September, with refreshments being served from 10:15am. Entry is just £1 and Talk lasts for an hour.
